Exemptions Policy for Regular Route
Exemption refers to allowing students to opt-out of writing certain papers in the Associateship examination program. This indicates that the student has taken and passed a similar professional or academic examination on the same subject.
The following exemptions are applicable for various levels of academic or professional qualifications:
- Holders of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Banking and Finance will be exempted from levels I &2
- Degree in Banking and Finance will be exempted from levels 1& 2
- Any business-related Degree (Accountancy, Finance, Management, Economics Secretaryship, etc.) will be exempted from level 1
- HND Business-related will be exempted from level 1
- Non-business related HND –Subject for Subject exemption
- Non-business-related Degree – subject for subject exemption
- Non-business-related master’s Degree will be exempted from level 1
- Business-related first and second degrees will be exempted from levels 1 & 2 (plus subject(s) at level 3 where applicable).
- Non-Business first Degree with a business-related second degree will be exempted from levels 1 & 2
- Holders of CA Ghana Will be exempted from levels 1 & 2 (plus subject(s) at three where applicable)
- Holders of ACCA Ghana Will be exempted from levels 1 & 2 (plus subjects(s) at level 3 where applicable)

Note, Students are to pay for subjects from which they are exempted before they can proceed to register for the examination at the next level.
Exemptions Policy for Banking Academy Route
The Banking Academy Route is an access route for staff of Banks with an Academy or Training School.
The programme is made up of four modules.
Upon completion of the four modules, the holder of the Banking Academy certificate qualifies for exemptions from levels 1 to 3 of the Associate Chartered Banker programme and proceeds to start from level 4 (the final level of the Associateship programme).
